The project is an extensive website plan, design and build combining multi-media features with an e-commerce and event booking module all combined in a content management system that allows Ashley to run his online business with ease.
Ashley Latter is a selling coach who specialises in working with dental and orthodontic practices to help improve the internal and business performance of the organisations. It is a specialist area that required a website that would appeal to and serve the community Ashley works within.
Ashley’s aim with his new website was simple; to provide prospective clients with a number of easy ways to get in touch with him and make use of his services. Ashley’s services can be split into four main areas: regular newsletters targeted at the dental industry, a comprehensive online learning zone combining articles and videos for training purposes, books & DVDs and finally a selection of training courses.
Urban Element began the project by working closely with Ashley to produce a set of goals and aims for the website in order to produce a plan of action for the production of the website. This resulted in a creative brief document that detailed all of the initial ideas for the website; from fonts to colour schemes and media plan. The creative brief then allowed Urban Element’s web design team to produce a sitemap and wireframe design. These documents defined the structure of the multi-media content that would fill the website and allowed Ashley Latter to see how the architecture of his website would be created.
With the structure of the website confirmed, the web design team was able to then produce full creative designs for the website. The design stage of the build focussed on focussing on the Ashley Latter brand as well as providing a highly useable experience for website visitors ensuring that Ashley’s content and services were as accessible as possible.
Following the website design stage the website moved into development where it was built using the robust content management system, Business Catalyst. Building the website onto the Business Catalyst platform gave Ashley Latter complete control over the content on his website as well as providing him with an effective CRM system for managing website customer signups. Combining this content management system with the search engine optimisation input of the Urban Element SEO team saw the completion of the website with firm foundations in online marketing.
