Jon Ellard is to run the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday 5th September in aid of the Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust, Urban Element’s chosen charity.
Miriam Hyman was just thirty-two years old when she lost her life in the 7/7 London bombings together with fifty-one other people. She was travelling to work on the bus that exploded in Tavistock Square.
Through the Miriam Hyman Memorial Trust (MHMT, http://www.miriam-hyman.com) Miriam’s family and friends are supporting and equipping the Miriam Hyman Children's Eye Care Centre within the L V Prasad Eye Institute in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. This is a place of hope, healing and rehabilitation for children with eye conditions, irrespective of the ability to pay.
Jon hopes to raise at least £600 in sponsorship for MHMT, and is training hard to complete the course in under 2 hours 15 minutes.
To sponsor Jon and provide words of encouragement to help him keep a good pace around the course, please do so via his JustGiving page.
