A Day in the Life of Urban Element

Ever wondered what a web design and digital marketing agency gets up to all day long? New projects and challenges are always popping up in the UE office and we all do our bests to adapt and conquer. We thought we’d give you a little insight into a day in the life of the Urban Element team…

9am – Matt starts the day by catching up on the latest search engine news. He’ll also be going through various client’s search engine rankings and Google Analytics to look out for any peaks or falls and determine the causes.

10am – One of our new clients comes in for a Kick Off Meeting to discuss their wants and needs for their new website. This is a great chance for us to get to know our clients and an opportunity to really understand what they are looking for in a web design agency.

A lot of the UE team get involved at this stage; as Project Manager Karen oversees everything. Then, throughout the half day meeting, different team members come in at various points to determine the client’s goals in relation to their role in the build - Luke M as Content Strategist, Jim as Technical Lead and Ben or Dan as our Graphic Designers.

1.30pm – Whilst Natasha has an offsite sales meeting with a potential client, Jon has a meeting with one of our current digital marketing clients to discuss their ongoing SEO goals. He will review their performance to date, including search engine rankings, enquiries and website traffic, establishing our next steps.

2pm – As Account Manager and Account Executive, Alice and Lucy spend time discussing ongoing work for existing clients to ensure that their websites are continuing to provide them with a return on investment.

3pm – Camille has just finished writing a keyword optimised blog post for one of our digital marketing clients to help increase their rankings. She then passes this over to our Social Media Executive Luke T, so he can begin putting together some supporting social media posts to help drive traffic to both the blog post and the website.

4pm – Our final meeting of a busy day – Lee, one of our two Front End Developers, has a training session for one of our recently gone live sites. He’ll show the client how to use their content management system to update their new website, should they wish to manage it themselves.

4.30pm – Our Senior Front End Developer, Chris, is just finishing the development of a new Business Catalyst website before the User Acceptance Testing meeting with the client next week.
